This book was amazing. I loved it so much. There was a moment when I just couldn’t put it down and I just hate that I wasn’t a faster reader. It was amazing.It is really dark and I believe that it should had warnings because it contain some scenes that might be consider offensive and some that might be triggering for some reader. If anyone is thinking of reading it beware it contain some serious violent scenes, dub/con and non/con scenes and a lot of morally questionable conducts. That being said, I like reading dark theme books and this one was exactly what I was looking for.Jade was a stunning character, I was quickly loving his defiance and all the rage he had in him, and to see his development as a character was simply beautiful. It was so interesting to see the way he think and I was always trying to predict his actions, fool of me because he was unpredictable. Elish was also such a great character, so cold, so contain and manipulative, it is the kind of character I usually love and this time wasn’t any different, although it was surprising to me, how I tend to take Jade’s side every time and if I would choose between them I would choose Jade as my favorite. It might have something to do with the fact that he suffer so beautifully. I loved him. Every single one of the characters was so fantastic, even the ones that had little spotlight.The plot was great. I t was so full of surprises. As unpredictable as Jade himself. It make me feel such and wide range of emotion, it made me gasp so many times and some others made me want to throw my kindle across the room. The way it connect the story with the events of Fallocaust was brilliant. It really was a pleasure to read it but beware it might not be suitable for every reader.
Breaking Jade is a companion to Fallocaust Book 1, meaning that the timeline of the books overlap. It focuses on the development of the relationship between the Chimera Elish and his pet Jade, as well as including chapters involving Reaver, Killian and others from Book 1.Many questions and mysteries from Book 1 are addressed in Breaking Jade and we get some detailed insight into Elish's scheme involving the Aras characters. For this reason, I recommend reading this Companion after Book 1. If you liked Book 1, this Companion is a must read.I felt as though Quil Carter's writing has developed since Book 1, making this one an even more delightful read. The way he deals with his characters' internal struggles seems a little more mature. The intricacies of the plot are incredible and I found myself wondering how long he's been working out these books in his head.The editing is pretty good for something so long.The sex and violence gets out of hand, so beware!I loved this and will definitely be reading the next book.

And Breaking Jade is no exception.Quil Carter beautifully illuminates the intricacy of when two opposites attract, collide and the challenges within. In Breaking Jade, we delve deeply into the minds of Elish Dekker and Jade - seeing what makes their relationships tick and how they each came to be who they are (and who they will be). Both are strong and stoic in their own right, but with this narrative we are given a glimpse to their intimate affairs, heart-wrenching histories and fiery passion.One of the parts I enjoyed the most from this companion book was how well it meshed up with the parent book, Fallocaust. I got an incredible thrill being able to see the story from multiple perspectives, which is something that is greatly lacking in many popular series. There were several instance where I went back to re-read the same scene from Fallocaust, purely for the refreshment and joy of it. I also loved how the dialogue matched up seamlessly between the books - particularly the scene when Jade first meets Killian. Understanding the actions from both characters, why and how they played off each other was riveting.I took longer than I had anticipated to finish the book in a conscious effort to prolong the time I had in Skyfall. In a selfish sense, I was a little disappointed at how quickly it ended and the point where it ended. A part of me was hoping to get another insight into the cliffhanger ending that Fallocaust had. Will just have to wait until Book 2!Quil highly recommends reading Fallocaust before Breaking Jade, but I wholeheartedly believe it shouldn't be a recommendation. If Breaking Jade is read first, you are doing yourself and the author a disservice.Additionally: As with Fallocaust, Breaking Jade is very graphic, but necessarily so. So, be prepared.Another stunning piece of work, Mr. Carter. I can't wait to read the books again (and especially once I get hard copies!). Thank you sharing your world and your love of these characters. Your attention to detail and love for your characters shows in the brutal honesty and beauty in which they are depicted.
