Before I begin; why do reviewers feel the need to divulge the whole story in a review? Is the book exciting or boring, does it hold your attention, are the characters developed or not, grammar, can you put it down, long or short etc. Leave the story telling to the author for goodness sake. I just don't understand it.This was a good read, more psychological and less action than the first. The ending in my opinion a bit disheartening as Ballard heads for retirement. I hope there's a follow-up.

Clever writing. Just when you think you got it right it changes direction. Who's the killer? When most of likely ones are found dead where do you go from there?

Loved the continued story and characters and the introduction of the new and very interesting characters that created kind of a sub plot within this storyline.

Many thanks to the author / Joffe Books / Books n All Promotion / Netgalley for the digital copy of this crime thriller. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.Detective Matt Ballard wants nothing more than to retire. He's put in his 30 years and his girlfriend have made plans, including marriage. They are both still recovering from the last case they worked... particularly Liz who is healing much slower. Matt has agreed to stay on as they have a shortage of detectives.Grace Repton is engaged to marry Jeremy Reader ... a serial killer of 5 women. He is behind prison bars and has sent Grace to Matt with a message ... Jeremy has stated that there will be someone copycatting his crimes and he wants Matt to catch him and stop him.Can Matt really trust a serial killer and the woman who says she loves him?But then the first two bodies are found ... mutilated and killed with heart-shaped skin patches taken from their bodies ... just like the original killer, Jeremy Reader. This is a well-written fast-paced thriller filled with memorable characters that jump off the page. With the balance of professional life vs personal life , the characters come across as very credible. The suspense starts out a little slow, concentrating more of the personal side of things. But as bodies fall, one right after the other, the suspense grows and grows until it explodes like a helium balloon filled with hydrogen and oxygen.

I received this book free from Joffe books for an honest review and I'm so glad I did. This is the second book about DCI Matthew Ballard.Serial killer Jeremy Reader was caught by DCI Matthew Ballard years ago. Reader's fiance comes to Ballard telling him that a young man named Alex has written to Reader and wants to copy the kills. Ballard has to decide if the threat is real and if can he trust Reader and a woman who is in love with a serial killer. Can he trust the psychiatrist's that say Reader is a changed man?Soon the killings start and it's a race to find the killer. Ballard's team of detectives is spread thin as they are also working a case of men being killed who have Lithuanian family ties. As if that wasn't enough to deal with, the woman Ballard loves is facing a health crisis. This is a great suspense read with a surprising twist at the end. The characters are fully developed and the descriptions of the environment were so vivid and real that I could picture it.I can't wait for more DCI Ballard stories from author Joy Ellis.

Grace Repton comes into the police station to talk to Detective Matt Ballard. She has information, she says that can stop a murder from happening. Grace's fiancé, the infamous serial killer Jeremy Reader, and he tells her one of his disciples is going to use Reader's methods of killing. Now Reader wants to help catch this person, but can he be trusted? There is also three other murdered victims found with a distinctive tattoo on them. Is this a gang related problem or something else all together? Either way time is not on the side of the police. The characters will draw you in, and you will be hoping things at least slow down for the police so they can get a handle on these killers. I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book from Joffe.

The characters are strong and well defined. It's a tad gruesome at times but I guess real murders are not very pretty. I enjoyed the book and would have given it more stars but the way the investigation danced around the obvious suspect was lame.

This is another thrilling murder mystery, written by a master of them---Joy Ellis! DCI Matt Ballard has one last case before retirement and what an adventure. This has more twists, contradictions, conflicts, and confusion than any other she has written. It also has another mind blowing conclusion, as every decision reached turns out to be wrong! Enjoy but be ready to read it through to the exciting end.

Required for Class but did not follow the W3C guidelines. I did follow the instruction but I did not really know why one method was chosen over another (seemed unclear). All the code I followed using this book would not pass the W3C CSS Validator so I would have to make changes. The book says it is using CSS and has a couple of chapters but it used tables throughout. It all ran together and very disjointed to me. I was unsure of why and I think a textbook should answer those questions, the "what", "why" and best practices. This book had no heart, conviction or philosophy. It was just a step by step manual with lots of pretty pictures and I was unsure why I was following those particular steps. If you want to be a great webmaster, I would not purchase this book.

This purchase was one of the best I have had because:1) Seller provided all necesary information to asses book content and depth, and degree of book physical conditionsHis information was accurate, professional and on time2) Book itself details and qualtiy of packaging and its protection from damage on deliveryI thank you the seller for this experience and wish him best luckI will get the time to provide review of book technical content in Amazon pertinent area of books review

This was a gift and the recipient was happy with it

This book was a little hard to read and it kind of put me to sleep. It got the job done, I passed my class but barley. Probably why I switched majors, programing puts me to sleep.

So far, this book has been very good.Seems like everything is really easy. -Hope I can actually use some of this stuff in the real world.

The Book is great and very easy to read and digest! Even those of us who do not have lot's of background can go through this and gradually become very good at creating their web pages.
