I purchased this for the PE exam and it goes far more in-depth than you need it. But the important information is there if you take the time to look for it. When taking the PE practice exam I was able to answer 1-2 questions because of this book, and another question or 2 this book made me more confused than I needed to be for a simple problem.

I like the way this book is written. Reads easier than other texts. Generally easy to digest with pretty good examples.Wish it covered more power system stuff than it does because I like the author's style. But best form motors and generators.Power System Analysis by Grainger and Stevenson is better for some things than this, but this is better for motors etc..

I read this book several times to my class of 5th graders every year- because I feel like it really speaks a lot about life. I work in a Title I school, where we are really focusing on getting all of our students to succeed- via whatever path they choose after high school. Many of our children had never been out of the county before this year, when we took them on a field trip across the state to a zoo. I feel like this book not only encourages them, but also kind of gives them a heads up of the reality of "later life". Sometimes you aren't on top of the world, and you do get lost, and you do have to keep going to try to get out of your rut. And you don't want to be caught with the people who are just "waiting around"...we want them to be proactive and do something about it. I save up all year and purchase each of my students a copy and write a note to them individually, so that they know that they have someone who is in their corner, really pushing for them. That being said, I also read this to my own small children- because they just really enjoy the story, and all of the pictures.

Classic Dr. Seuss story. What more needs to be said?We purchased one copy for each of our kids. We have their coaches, teachers, etc. sign the book after each season with a little message. We plan to give them the books when they graduate from high school. What's really neat is they are 6 and 11 and have no clue we have been doing this. Hopefully we can keep that up and it makes a nice surprise and keepsake for them.

I gave this book to my stepchildren when they graduated from college. I read it myself in my 30s because I was a freelance writer, and this simple book helped me gather the courage to open myself to all the possibilities. I had a very successful career as a freelance writer of only non-fiction. In my retirement, I need to read this again as I'm now writing and indie publishing serious mid-grade/young adult fiction as Pleasant Oliver and once again, I need its boost of enthusiasm and courage for all the wonderful possibilities and opportunities that are going to come my way! In Spring 2018, I will give it my great nephew as he graduates from high school, and in later years, I will give it my other great nieces and nephews when they graduate from high school--maybe again when they graduate from college!

I bought two copies of this book for my children. Once they complete a grade in school, I will have their teachers sign it, and I will give them the book with notes from all their teachers on the day they graduate. Granted, I stole this idea from facebook, but it's so cute and Doctor Suess is such a great author.I have read it to them once and will read it to them every year before school starts. It's an adorable and inspirational book to remind them to keep pushing forward. Dr. Suess was the first author I ever read (The Foot Book, to be exact) and I while I have seen this one all over the internet, I had never read it before I bought it for my kids.The product itself came to me in two days, I have Prime, and there were a few nicks on the corners of the book. But I wouldn't say they're overly damaged or whatnot. Just don't expect the product to come in perfect condition. If you're going to steal my idea, the one I stole that is, I recommend storing the books in air tight bags in between readings and having them signed.

I paid nearly $20 for the hardcover book and then paid to import it to Ecuador. Wow am I upset that the publisher printed the words and pages the opposite direction of the cover. For $20 in the kindle age there really is no excuse for a publisher that sells thousands and thousands of copies to product work like this. I have read others complaining about the same issue. You need to check your quality control and be prepared to give a full refund when this happens. Then again, how hard is it to open a book and check it before you sell it???? Really really really annoying and is VERY upsetting since the taxes and shipping to import were more than the messed up book!!!!! GGGRRRrrrrrrrr Dr. Suess.

We got 2 of these for our son and daughter's teachers to sign as they grow up (to give them when they graduate). We're also writing letters to put within the pages over the years. The books are of great quality and should stand the test of time. I've also seen them used as 'advice books' where guests at graduation parties write little bits of advice for the graduates.

What is there to say about this book that hasn't already been said?! It makes a great Graduation gift (I bought 8 of them on Amazon for HALF of the list price!) and is a timeless classic.This is the exact same quality, hardcover book (with dustcover!) but at half the price. Thanks, Amazon!

As described, wonderful book. I got a copy for high school graduation and have decided to get my toddler a copy and have his teachers and therapist's write little notes overy the years and give to him at his graduation. He has severe autism and I want him to be able to look back at all of the people he may not remember, but they helped get him where he's going.

Gift was very appreciated

When I was diagnosed and treated for endometerosis I wanted to learn all I can about the disorder and how to prevent/get rid of this issue. I bought this book and it was lackluster to say the least. It was a long-winded story about a woman who had a lot of life challenges and managed to get past this issue. Nothing of real use was learned from this book and it was not motivational either. I would recommend buying a book published by a real medical doctor and not by a random woman who lucked out when her disorder dissapeared.

This book has helped me to fully understand this disease and I have a better understanding why I have so many different symptoms. This is a book that focusses on natural treatments and it gives advice with many suggestions to help deal with the pain and inflammThis book has helped me to fully understand this disease and I have a better understanding why I have so many different symptoms. This is a book that focusses on natural treatments and it gives advice with many suggestions to help deal with the pain and inflammation caused by endometriosis.There is also a good chapter that introduces the diet for endometriosis and having tested some of the advice in my own diet and can honestly say that I can feel the difference and I have noticed a marked reduction in my pain.I did not realise that using modern chemical based toiletries could cause problems for those of us who suffer from this disease, as they mimic estrogens in the body, and I have started to use alternatives as advised by the author, so that I can do as much as I can to reduce toxins in my body and help improve my health.To give lots of encouragement intertwined through the book there are lots of stores from actual women who have healed or radically improved their health, mostly by using natural treatments and therapies or have combined surgery with natural treatments.I have more confidence in my ability to start dealing with this disease and not feel overwhelmed by all the negative information I have read everywhere else. A great book to offer hope especially as the author has healed from the disease despite being diagnosed with severe endometriosis.

I came across this book when I started looking for a remedy for my endometriosis as it got so bad that at times I could hardly walk. It is a great book and Carolyn also has a website that provides a ton of useful information. I have followed her diet tips since 2009 and it worked within a few weeks. I was not able to follow it 100%, maybe about 85%, but it made a huge difference. Thank you Carolyn for your great advice and for sharing your story!

As an avid adult coloring enthusiast and a DC comic book fan, buying this book was a no brainer. It's super cute . One thing I will say is that there are certain points in the book where the details are so fine and intricate , I wonder if it's really for little kids . I would highly recommend !

Loved this coloring book! I ordered it for my nieces birthday and was impressed for the price. A great variety in pages to color and a good amount of pages as well. Would recommend to others.

Product received as described and in new condition. The kids love the varying characters and depictions on each page. Packaging was sufficient to prevent damage, while not being too cumbersome to open. Definitely would order again.

Not sure that the insights here are particularly novel or"newly useful." But the book is subtle and worth putting on the required reading lists of every one in medical school or practice. Every white liberal doctor I know insists that while there maybe little or no explicit race bias to see in medical practice, especially in hospitals, there is a massive amount of careful and cautiously done research on the topic of explicit race discrimination in medical outcomes for patients. How both these can exist simultaneously is DBM's question and a very good one. But I am not sure her "cure" can work unless and until very fundamental social stereotyping by race can be scrubbed out of life in America, and elswhere, can be scrubbed clean.

JUST MEDICINE is an excellent account delineating cultural biases and the negative impact on health care delivery. Would certainly recommend to health professionals, however, lay people may find the information useful in navigating the health care system, advocacy, and building effective doctor/patient relationships for healthier outcomes.

This thoughtful book provides a careful look at how racial bias can be embedded in the systems that determine quality of care. We need more scholars like Dayna Matthew, who is will to grapple with what it will take to create lasting change

Professor Matthew presents a compelling argument for tackling one of our nation's most challenging healthcare issues, the disparities in health care among vulnerable and marginalized groups. Her assessment of the problem and game-changing model is an innovative solution that will help us reduce health disparities and achieve health equity in America. I recommend this book to everyone who cares about health equity.

The author has a valid point of view, but it is not as universally applicable as she would assume. Nonetheless, it is a thought provoking essay ( which it should have been, rather than a book) on how the unconscious infiltration of racial bias might affect medical care.

Good for what it is - an extremely basic look at monoprinting with a Gelli Plate. If you have ever done any Gelli printing, or even any printing at all, you will need a more sophisticated book. That said if you have NO idea of what you might be getting into and are curious then spend the 99 cents and get this. you'll know from the first read whether you want to explore further. Then I would recommend Gelli Plate Printing by Joan Bess.

The level of ignorance of printmaking techniques represented by the Kindle preview is astounding. The last paragraph in that preview:"Another common style of monoprint is the copper etching. An artisan starts with a copper sheet. They engrave a design into that sheet. The sheet is layered with paint, paper is pressed onto it, and not the paper has that design."A monoprint is not a copper etching is not an engraving. Hand pressure, which can work for some forms of monoprint and for monotype, cannot adequately pull ink from the recesses of an intaglio-inked plate (which is how etching and engraving plates are inked). These printmaking techniques require an etching press, which can apply pressure of 2500 pounds or more, per linear inch, from a steel roller to the plate and substrate resting on a very solid (usually also steel) bed.Neither is a Japanese woodblock print (mentioned in the section immediately preceding the quoted passage above) commonly a monoprint--especially not the classic prints, such as Hokusai's Wave image, shown in the book--since they were created in an edition. There's nothing "mono" about them.Based on these fundamental errors, I'd say give this book a distant pass-by. The author is either terribly poorly informed, or is a poor writer.

The author gives a very clear intro to making monotype prints for beginners and emphasizes the 'fun' part of the process.She clearly states that this is meant for absolute beginners using easily obtained equipment. I used the recipe for making my own gelli plate and had great fun making abstract artwork
