This book is great. This is the Enchiridion from Adventure Time and Marceline the Vampires Scrapbook. The book was bigger than I thought it would be which is a great surprise. This book is about double the size of the Adventure Time Encyclopedia (which this book is a great companion to) and I like that half the book is the Enchiridion and the other half (just flip the book over) is Marceline’s Scrap book. Both halves of the book get a good number of pages to impress and expand on the ever growing world of Ooo.I really like all the detail, you can tell this was made with love and fans of the show (Written by Martin and Olivia Olson who both play characters on Adventure Time, Olivia plays Marceline). There’s cool little things like taped down pieces, tons of little scribbles and sketches. I really like the parchment style scrolls and spell sections in the Enchiridion and the hand drawn sketches in the scrapbook. This book is really great for the price (under $20) this is a great book for any fan of Adventure Time, and can really be appreciated by anyone of any age. I didn’t want to show too many pictures and spoil the good stuff, lots of good jokes and Easter Eggs inside the book(s). The Adventure Time Enchiridion and Marcy’s Super Secret Scrapbook is mathematical and you have to get it, FULLY RECOMMENDED.

Before I had this book, I didn't know what it took to be hero. Now I know I'll need a sword at least, and a healthy distaste for wizards.Beware though, this book is not some novelty item. It is long and detailed with a healthy backstory of the Adventure Time universe. My daughter loves Marceline, so she got a big kick out of it.

The Enchiridion half: It has all the humor of the show with a few nods to the overall mythology of the show thrown in. It doesn't give you insight into individual characters, but you have the sense it was written from the perspective of someone important from the AT universe long ago. Fans will love the scrap book half of the book because it gives you insight into Simon before he wore the crown, his time in the apocalypse with Marceline struggling against the crown's influence, Marceline's adolescence, and her time spent vampire hunting as seen on the show.

Great great book! I am a HUGE Adventure Time fan and this book was simply fantastic. It's fun and helps you visualize what you'd be like as a hero in the land of Ooo :P And don't be bummed out about the whole two books in one thing. It's done in a way that isn't immensely cheesy and has a cute story behind it. Both books are beautiful with wonderful art and great characters. My only problem would be the inconsistency with Shwabl's coat color in the show/book and a little more in the hero section wouldn't have hurt :P

I'm a huge Adventure Time fan so as soon as I heard that fans could pre-order this book I jumped on it. The book is wonderful just as a decoration by itself added to the pictures and information on the inside it's greatness. It shipped fast and nothing is cosmetically wrong with it (which is a problem I've had in the past with AT merchandise).This is an amazing addition to any fans collection

Simon and Marcy are two of my favorite characters and this book is just filled with their stories from after the war. I love this book and the Enchiridion is a great bonus for lore.

I was amazed by the size and quality of this book. The art is fantastic and a real treat for any fan of Adventure Time. It has so much extra information about the characters, stories and world of Adventure Time. My son is a big fan and couldn't wait to read it.

Just as awesome as expected. :DReally good quality and the binding looks very nice under the dust cover.Nicely written. I'm already a fan of Marceline and Ice King's story, it clears up some stuff and is a great addition to their back-story. The Enchiridion section I have not fully read, only skimmed, but seems clever and funny. Really good gift for Adventure Time fans!

This book is geared to the person who does business internationally. I am retired. I do not travel internationally. So, of course, I bought a copy and read it cover to cover. And found it totally fascinating!More than 60 countries are listed alphabetically, and the information for each country is given in the same format, so it's easy to go from one to the other and not feel you're trying to compare apples to rutabagas.Two small nits to pick – they changed fonts for the Cultural Notes, etc., and chose a narrower font, and lighter ink which made it very difficult for old eyes to read. The second nit concerns the silhouette of the country at the beginning of each section. While it's true that Americans (of which I am one) are not as good at geography as we should be, and which is called out in this book, it would have been helpful had they added a necessary lines radiating from the silhouette a half inch or so and called out the countries next to it. OK, a third nit. I would have loved to have read about a few African countries, such as Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, &c. They did give us Egypt and South Africa, but there are so many more countries there.It would be almost impossible to produce a book of this magnitude without some glitches, which have been called out in other reviews. Personally, even with the glitches, I think the authors are to be commended for a job well done.If you are a businessperson who does business with people not of your country, whether you host them, or are the hosted, I think this book would be an invaluable book for your office. Unthinking things we do in our native countries can have consequences in another country, even one that is similar, culturally, to ours.This book shows us that one man's cup of tea may very well be a business's cup of poison.

Give this to graduates in International Studies, International Law or folks just likely to be traveling extensively. In my forty plus years in international trade has been a godsend. With the number of State Department posts unfilled at the moment and the resulting scarcity of knowledgeable advice for private and commercial endeavors for some countries, this is great, handy reference. Wish they would add more smaller countries and update more frequently but still a superb resource. Fun too just to read about different countries cultural traditions and commercial practices.

As a teacher of international students, I bought this book to give me some background, but also practice their reading skills in English, while discussing something they know--their own culture.It's a little outdated (2006, I think). That was 12 years ago, and in China, for example, a lot has changed.It's also very business-oriented. I can make use of it in school, but that's not the focus of the book. Still, it's useful.

Great reference book. I pick it up before I travel for work or meet someone new. Too bad it's not travel size, but understand why as it holds a lot of great information. It would be great if they updated it with recent history events. A lot of significant events have occurred since this was last published. Recommend to all- not just for those looking to use this for work.

What about some others???? I have a lot of clients from Nigeria, and was hoping to read up on them. How can you omit the whole continent like that??

Fascinating. I can see how it would be useful for business folks, but that description does not include myself. Rather, as someone who just wants to travel and see the world, I feel like I have the inside scoop on a lot of the countries I want to visit. I will definitely keep it as a reference and consult before I travel!

I had ful reading this book and find it useful. I am Portuguese and under the Portuguese section some descriptions about our culture were not correct, but I think it is hard to know in depth everything about so many cultures. I do recommend the book.

Having worked internationally for 20 years,the book will be a great help for my 4 young adult children all just launching their careers. Laid out in a similar fashion to the Fiske Guide for Colleges so easy for them to navigate quickly - but you're only allowed to order one per account from Amazon and instead have to order from "other sellers". Very annoying. I'm assuming the publisher is trying to keep companies from ordering in bulk but 1 per customer? Ridiculous

Absolutely beautiful book of the elegant houses along the romantic Hudson!

A book professing to be about architecture should at least have floor plans. Just one tiny plan in this book.The book is lovely, and should stoke the egos of the owners of the houses, as they gaze upon images of their own living and dining rooms, and read about how wonderful they are.

Makes me want to own property along the Hudson.

This book is a Christmas gift and hasn't been read yet. I'm sure it's beautiful & cant wait to dive into it!

About the Author

Anna Dewdney was a teacher, mother, and enthusiastic proponent of reading aloud to children. She continually honed her skills as an artist and writer and published her first Llama Llama book in 2005. Her passion for creating extended to home and garden and she lovingly restored an 18th century farmhouse in southern Vermont. Our entire family are huge Llama Llama fans, but this one, which on our cover says "an Anna Dewdney book" vs actually *by* Anna Dewdney, is more like a shady counterfeit version of our beloved character. Given her date of death and the publication date of this book, I suspect that this is a continuation taken up by another author. Not only are the illustrations not quite as good as the "real" Llama Llama books, but the writing is--I don't want to be mean--just bad. The joyfulness of the original Llama Llama books is missing. The childhood excitement is gone. The rhyming scheme doesn't even work. This book is painful to read aloud. I strongly recommend fans stick to the earlier books. Llama Llama Red Pajama is straight up genius. Get that one instead.

This book is for younger children (under 3). It is good for toddlers as it is a board book and has short, rhyming phrases on each page, though I would not recommend this for a preschooler and above. I believe this is the llama llama series for younger children and I bought it by mistake thinking that it would have more pages (as noted on the Amazon webpage for this book: 14), though was disappointed when I received it. My child was excited to receive it, but it is such a quick read that I would not recommend it for 3 and over, but feel that it is good for children under 3.

"Llama Llama Gives Thanks" is a great addition to the Llama Llama board books collection. It is an easy story to read aloud which is one of the things I love about the Llama Llama board books. It is also a short enough story that my twin 20 month olds don't get board and sit through the whole story. In fact, they like it so much we can read it multiple times in one sitting. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of the other Llama Llama board books.

So cute. We loved "Llama Llama Red Pajamas" and these cute holiday quick reads are fun to get into the holiday spirit in a 10 minute read. Ok, I have a toddler, we stretch it out, but let's not get caught up in how long it takes to read it. There are fun images, pretty colors, and I love that you can "see" the canvas texture of the illustrations. My daughter is 16 months and I am sure she will grow out of this, but she loves books now and her attention span isn't great so I really think these short poem stories are just perfect for her.

Not the best llama llama book. Feels forced and doesn't flow the way the others do.

Our copy says this is an "an Anna Dewdney book" - which I take to mean that someone else wrote it, at least in part. Doesn't rhyme as well as the others and I would not buy again.

This book was pretty nice for the price but it is pretty short with a fairly underwhelming story line. Perhaps this is good for my 11 month old, who isn’t following the story line so much as just looking at the pictures (which are pretty nice), but not so good for an older child who enjoys more of a story.

The text flow didn't seem as easy to follow and friendly as in past books, but considering the passing of the author and the holiday reference, I love these books, so my child had to have this one. And she liked it, just not as much as others. I would recommend buying if your a fan.

I've been in the transportation career field since early 1998. Through out the course of my carreer I've worked as a technical manager in military logistics, commercial transportation sales and logistics, and now regulatory compliance. Throughout the course of my career in transportation I've attended many formal courses and referenced many guides.This guide serves a good general overview of the field and is well written. What I enjoy the most is the author's use of clear strait forward prose. It's not a padded text book full of irrelevant details yet it offers enough to point you in the right direction for further study. I highly recommend this work as a primer.I would have liked to have seen at least one chapter dedicated to the transportation of hazardous materials which presents many unique challenges to supply chain managers. Additionally, while I believe that sometimes "less is more" I think that each mode of transportation deserved at least a chapter length of insight relevant to each mode. In any case, I look forward to more works produced by these authors.Nicely done!

Great book, needed it for my dissertation and I am glad that Amazon provided it for me at a reasonable price.

Having spent many decades in the paper industry this book indeed covers almost everything. In some cases there is a bit to much information and you end up wallowing around for a paragraph or two to many on some subjects.It's detailed, informative, well researched and has good flow to the information and timeline. The only thing i found missing ( and I could have missed it) was information on the early 1900's to 1940's "Hobo" papermakers who drifted from mill to mill primarily in the northeastern United States. But that would be a book in itself!

Exactly what it says. The early chapters focus on the origins of paper and how it was made in the beginning and into today. Then it moves onto how paper had an effect on things like architecture and ideas. Another section deals with how it is used and how that has changed like newsprint into sanitary health products. Finally poignant moments that deal with paper as the line between a medium and the artifact itself are discussed. I did notice that the paper this book was made with was quite nice feeling substantial but not overly heavy. I really enjoyed this micro history and it encompasses so many interesting things

Basbanes always writes in a way that strolls through his topic, in this case paper. He manages to provide insights at every point, along with fascinating details on the processes and business of papermaking, as well on the value and mystique of paper itself. Like his other works, this volume deserves a leisurely read. It will deeply affect the reader's understanding of and appreciation for something so easily taken for granted. Basbanes is unique in his writing--entertaining, confident, informative. It invites the reader to savor a topic, to relax and enjoy the world, and to be affected thereby. His beautiful language and deep knowledge of his subject reminds the reader that sometimes it is more important to read and digest rather than just gather information. No one issues this invitation better than Basbanes.

What a wonderful, entertaining, thorough book. Gun cartridges?!! ... who knew! Basbanes obviously has a love of paper, but of history, culture, sociology, and serendipity. This is right up there with Salt, and Rain ... two other beautiful books, all of which will amaze and delight anyone who enjoys seeing the interconnectedness of life's "simple" and unnoticed wonders. Thank you sir, for a great ride.

I felt a bit guilty buying this on a kindle given the topic but I was traveling and wanted to read it on a trip. I found rich, readable and informative. As a lover of paper products, especially for writing, drawing and creating I was happy to learn about the origins and uses of my favorite medium.

I found it a bit heavy going. The "Everything" in the title? It's no idle boast. Sure, and I'm richer for having the book upon my shelves - anyone would be. Every so seldom is the evening, betwixt this book and that, I'll snug up to On Paper and languish in the lengths men went to be heard.

Like a lot who were on her path, she went into the glamorous world of hip hop, stripping and modeling in order to support herself and then later her son. She eventually went to appearing in hip hop videos and made her way into stardom, marrying and divorcing her abusive, rapper husband Kool G Rap. Her book chronicles her relationships with her ex husband, and eventually with a variety of other rappers and professional athletes, including Jay-Z, DMX, Bobby Brown, Ja Rule, Shaquille O'Neil, Usher, P Diddy.Why did she end up used, abused and hung out to dry by them (or any other)? Because she wanted to be loved, and she thought this is what you do to be loved in this world. Her most famous statement was that she had wives calling her looking for their husbands. When she told the wives that she had never even met their husband(s), their response was "Oh, well you will soon then." What does this say about the culture of celebrity and being a celebrity wife? That you have to accept certain things that ordinary women do not if you want to live this life of glitz and glamour and perks. I am late when it comes to reading Confessions of a Video Vixen especially since I read Vindicated first. I was scrolling through the comments section and noticed a reader suggesting that readers pick up Confessions of a Video Vixen to read why Karrine became a person who thought violence was normal and continued to stay in and return to abusive relationships.When it comes to why Karrine wrote Confessions of a Video Vixen, I didn’t believe that Karrine woke up one day thought “I’m going to go sleep with Ja Rule, Usher, Diddy, and others, so I can write a book about it”. One lesson I have learned about stories is that there always more to them and that is the case with this book.Confessions of a Video Vixen is a story about a girl who endured physical, mental, and emotional abuse from mother and it began a cycle for Karrine that continued as she found herself in abusive relationships. Karrine’s mother put in her mind that she was unwanted, unloved, and unworthy.In my honest opinion, Karrine went looking for love in all the wrong places because of foundation built for her was weak. Karrine’s mother and ex told her constantly how she was unloved and the cycle continued in this book and her other books. In this book, Karrine also battled depression, alcoholism, and drug addiction that built on the destructive cycle she was already on.I believe one of the saddest moments in this book outside of Karrine’s mother abusing her and lowering her self-esteem was how her ex (who she met when she was 17 while stripping) kicked her out while she was pregnant because of an argument and before she left, he demanded that she cook a steak for him and the only thing he cared about was making sure his steak didn’t get burned.Another sad moment in the book was when Karrine was being put out of her home and she called a few of the guys she had hooked up with and partied with and asked them for money so she and her baby wouldn’t be homeless and they didn’t seem to care. According to her, they provided thousands of dollars for shopping sprees and other things, but when she really needed help they could only spare her a few hundred dollars. Karrine learned that these guys were just using her and turned to hustling in order to feed her son because she didn’t have any money. It was a lesson that Karrine had to learn the hard way when it came to the men she thought really cared about her.It was amazing reading the biography of Karrine’s life and reading the “more” to her story. This book is worth the five stars that I’m giving it. I see why it was a New York Best Seller. I’m glad Karrine wrote this book to show just what goes on behind the scenes at video shoots and it’s more to them than shooting fun music videos and meeting so called cool people.One last thing: I received Vindicated and read it in two days at the beginning of June and by the end of June, I had bought five of Karrine’s books. When I start reading Karrine’s books I read them in two days or less because I can’t put them down. It’s nothing for me to lose interest quickly in a book, but that’s not the case with this book because, like Vindicated it was one of the best ones I have read. I suggest this book and Karrine’s other books to anyone who is looking to read interesting, informative, and entertaining books.

I read this when it first came out and just recently I read it so I had reference to her newer book, updating us on her life. She and her story are very compelling. She is a good writer and it is packed with insider info. I think women that think being with men will get them somewhere should look at this book for what it is...she is wounded and in search. No one should read it and think it is a path to success.

I don’t know what happened in this woman’s life that would explain why she did soo many of the things she did regarding sex but she is in need of therapy and I seriously hope she gets help. Lack of self esteem has to be a major factor because she was used by all these rappers who could of cared less for her as a human being. I hope she made good bank for this tell all now that’s sweet revenge. Hope she’s doing well & wish her happiness she deserves it.

I original purchased this book Confessions of a Video Vixen for my son Jaison he wanted to read it, but I read it in one day!!!!! Interesting from the beginning to the end. Karrine Steffans shared her life with the World & this is her testimony. May hat goes off to her. I would definitely recommend that people purchase this book and read it!!!!! I couldn't put it down.!!!!!!!!!

The item arrived on time as a substitute for the ebook edition because the ebook edition costs at least twice as much. Her story really shines a light on the entertainment industry, just a warning that there may be vulgar language. If you are not comfortable, this will not be your book. I was surprised that it only took me a few days to read.
